K DUBB THE TRUTH: THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

We all have experienced our different journeys of life and everything that is set forth in our pathway. We are determined to persevere in spite of our career choices. We look within ourselves to brighten our horizons to find a deeper understanding in what our life purpose is. Kevin Walton, also know as K DUBB THE TRUTH, has captured my attention due to his love for music and the art of expressing himself through lyrics.

Kevin inspired many recently in the wake of the Connecticut shootings with a profound excerpt of  life, love and reality itself. You too can take a moment to read this to see the soul of a man who has a lot to express:

It's difficult to understand certain experiences that we face in this world, I know. But understand that we made this world what it is. We have created our society to be how it is and respond how it does to itself. Generations upon generations of fear, separate-mindedness, repression, isolation, degradation, confusion, and so on, parents who were once children learning from their parents, absorbing the same and passing it down, until you have a world full of misunderstanding, full of hate, rage, panic, finger pointing, emotional anguish, and so on. We ask the question, how could this happen, and the answers have always been in front of us, constantly ignored, constantly over looked because we are too busy blaming, cursing and damning others, pointing the finger outward as if we are somehow not a part of this society, not a part of this world that we created.

It's not about laws or guns, or bombs, or money, or TV, or music, it is about us as a people. Our inability to be honest with ourselves, and our emotions, our lack of decency when we get caught up in our own minds, all our bullsh*t that we project on others and say they are the blame. We all do or have done this, no one is exempt. And when I see an experience like this occur, and I feel the sting in my heart, I can't help but understand the message. I see the posts, cursing the kid who did it, seeing him as evil, focusing on the action totally over looking the greater challenge of what lead him to doing this. NO ONE IS BORN EVIL, NO ONE IS INHERENTLY EVIL, people aren't racist, or hateful, or shoot up a college campus, or shoot up a movie theater, or shoot little kids, or bomb innocent people, or eat some one's face, or strap bombs to themselves and run into public places because they are born that way. This is conditioning, a societal trend based on our patterns of habit as a species. This is yet another wake up call, a mirror for us all to face and look at what we have been creating. And this is happening all over the world, all the time. IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP!!!!!

THERE IS NO ENEMY OUT THERE, THERE IS NO THEM, THERE IS ONLY US AND IT IS TIME FOR US TO WAKE UP AND CHANGE OUR WORLD, BUT IT STARTS WITH YOU, WITH ME, WITH WE, WITH US!!!!

Be the change we want to see in the world, be the love that you are, the love that you come from, we are light, we possess an extraordinary power, and we can change it all, so at what point do you finally recognize this and start living it.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PHYSICAL ILLUSION THAT WE CALL LIFE, IT IS TIME FOR US TO CHANGE IT AS WE SEE FIT!!!

I LOOK AT MY SON, AND I CAN ONLY THINK THAT IT MUST BE DONE FOR HIM, IT MUST BE DONE FOR THE KIDS THAT GOT KILLED, AND IT MUST BE DONE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DONE THE KILLING, WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAKE UP, LET YOUR TRUE LIGHT SHINE UPON THIS WORLD THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO, IT IS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE & LIGHT

He could have pursued careers in football, modeling but his heart is set on acting and music. He feels that you never ignore your path when your heart discovers your true desires. With him I took an intimate look inside of "who" Kevin is and "who" K DUBB THE TRUTH is. I discovered that they are both one in the same, and definitely with his presence in the music world "Things Will Never Be The Same".

I invite you to partake in my interview with Kevin as he shares who he is, what he does and his destiny with all of you around the world. Make sure you watch Kevin, K DUBB THE TRUTH bring "light" back into music.

Tell me a little bit about your background and where you were born.

I was born on an air force base in Clovis, NM.  Shortly after we moved to Colorado.  That’s where I grew up with my parents and two older brothers, in Denver.

What is your greatest strength?

I would have to say my use of language and expressing myself through words.  Also my understanding of existence and the nature of us.

What is your greatest weakness?

I've come to see any weakness not as a weakness, but a strength not yet cultivated, but either way, I think it could be the tendency I have to take on a lot at once.  If I’m not organized and on top of it all the time, things can get scattered and sometimes never get done.

What’s the best thing about your career?

The experiences, whether it is in the studio, on stage, or on set, I’m always grateful for the experience, for the people I come across, and just being able to do something I love.

What’s the best advice that you can give a young man faced with society today?

Don’t take anything personal, everyone has their own things to work through just like you, but it has nothing to do with you.  You are only in control of being the best you can be at being you.

Have you ever felt like you were destined to pursue any other career?

Yeah, football for the majority of my younger days, I loved it, I was great at it, and knew I was destined for the NFL, but my attitude toward the business side of it changed during college, and my heart discovered another path for which I could not ignore.

What are your views on the material you see in the music industry today?

I think it lacks stronger content and substance, and it needs to carry more purpose in it’s expression.  I’m all for having a good time, but there needs to be more of a range when it comes to commercializing music.  I don’t knock anyone getting their money, but I think the industry has exploited artists to an absurd point, and we are still just letting it happen.  We deserve more, and our listeners deserve more, and it’s damn time we give it to 'em.

What are your thoughts on philanthropy?

I think it is becoming more business and bias driven, but there are some bright spots within it for which people genuinely give with pure love in order to provide for those who truly need it.  But when you got 2% of the organizations getting 55% of the funding, well, I think that speaks for itself that something needs to be improve, as is the case with much in our society.

What’s the best advice you can give an entrepreneur in any industry?

It takes a certain type of mindset to be an entrepreneur, and if you have it, then persistence is key.  Strength, Confidence, Persistence.  But there has to be love, you have to love what you do in order to give your life to it in a healthy way, to enjoy the experience of the journey and see it all the way through.  And be decisive while your at it, there is no room for hesitation or teetering in the entrepreneurs world.

What’s your favorite past time?

Football, tossing the ball around, pick up games, whatever, it’s the greatest sport that ever existed to me.

What’s your vision when it comes to building your legacy?

I want to raise the level of awareness in others so they can reach their greatness, and in turn do the same for others.  I want to see us evolve to a higher consciousness as a species, and recognize our full radiant selves and the power we possess.

What do you think is needed to make sure the youth keeps their vision alive?

Love.  The youth needs love.  They need to be taught love, feel love, embrace love, and recognize the love that exists in them.

How important of a role did education play in making you the professional that you are today when it comes to your career choices?

A huge part, but at the same time, it’s more than education, I would say knowledge.  I definitely learned a lot in school, but the most important things I've learned were on my own, through my own pursuits or life experiences.  But knowledge is everything, it has completely shaped me into the professional I am today and how I approach my career and career/life choices.

What’s an average day for you like?

Almost everyday is different, it could be in the studio recording, on set, on auditions, on stage, in meetings, traveling, or just a day to sit down quietly and brainstorm, or spend all day long with my son.  But I always find time to read, to write, and grow in a progressive direction every single day.

Is there anyone in the world that you desire to meet with one day? If yes, who and why?

When I was younger I had a whole list of people I would like to meet, to pick their brain about life through their experiences, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Tupac Shakur, Muhammad Ali, Mahatma Gandhi, William Wallace, Harriet Tubman.  They were all people who stood for something and stood against something else larger then themselves.  I’m always curious and wonder what they were like behind closed doors, when they can speak freely and express how they feel about the journey of their life.  Now, I just desire to meet anyone who has a greater insight to our existence that can aid the evolution of our existence.

Have you ever thought about giving up your current career for something else?

No, I have an unyielding need to create and express, this serves me well, and plus it is all means to something greater I am building, so it is the perfect process and journey for me.

Do you plan on releasing your music in any other language besides English or have any collaborations in mind?

I've thought about that many times, and I would definitely love too.  I want to collab with different artists and composers from every type of genre of music, the range of ideas in my mind have no bounds.

In your journey so far, what is your best lesson that you've learned?

Honesty is everything.  Not only being true to your word, but being true to yourself.

What was the turning point in your life when you realized that you had to share your passion with the world?

At 24 it really hit me, and I was shown what my purpose was, and each year that passes, and each step I take brings me closer to truly taking on that responsibility.

Tell me something about you that no one would believe?

I’ll pass on that one for now, but will express it when the time is right (Laughs)

If you made the front of a magazine cover, what magazine would it be and what would the title/subtitle say?

I would love it to be the cover of every notable music magazine, with the subtitle saying “The Man Who Changed Everything”.  Boastful, I know.  But if it had to be one, I would want to be on the cover of TIME Magazine, saying “The Revolution Has Arrived:  Things Will Never Be The Same.”

If you had your own brand of fortune cookies and was only allowed one statement that would be read by billions, what would it say?

"You are always where you are supposed to be."

What do you think the biggest mistakes that individuals make in their career choices?

Making a decision for someone else, and not for what they really want themselves.

When do you think you will retire from your career business?

Not even thinking about it, at this moment I have no desire to stop, ever.

What three things do you think attributed to your success?

My heart and passion for what I do.  My positivity and ability to walk in gratitude every single day.  And the fact that everything I do is with a purpose.

What is your greatest belief?

That we all come from the source of absolutely love, and we all we make it to the same place because we are all in this together.  We are all one.

Tell me what Walking Wolf Productions is about?

It is a production company I built with two other friends from the film industry.  Aside from our own individual career pursuits, we wanted to build something that would allow us to create our own projects, things that we wanted to make and put out ourselves.

Have you ever considered pursuing a career in modeling full time?

I just now started thinking about modeling.  Before I was a lot bigger because of football so it wouldn't have worked, but now, I’m like, “I could use some of that modeling money too.”  (Laughs) but my focus is still acting and music, which I guess when I get to that next level modeling would just come with it.

What project are you currently working on and when can we expect a release date?

Working on a pilot that I wrote and directed myself, looking to get it to a cable network to get picked up, we’ll see what happens, but I’m excited about it.  And I just finished my album “Life, Dreams, And Everything In Between,” and got a great response from a free sneak peek promo release.  It will be out officially early next year.

Do you plan on having a tour for your music?

Plans are still being drawn up, but definitely.

How can readers purchase your music, book you for a show or get in touch with your for any of your services?

They can reach out to me at facebook.com/kdubbthetruth and Twitter @kdubbthetruth , my website is currently under construction, but they can get my music at kdubbthetruth.bandcamp.com .  The new album will be out on itunes soon.
